Escravos Gaz Plant Energy
Escravos Gas Plant is located near the Escravos River, close to the Chevron Nigeria terminal on the Gulf of Benin. The site is approximately 100 miles south of Lagos and 37 miles west of Warri.
Phase 3A Escravos was completed in 2009. The first natural gas was delivered to the new facility in June 2010. The export capacity of natural gas, LPG, and condensate is now 58,000 barrels. The expansion also includes offshore natural gas gathering and compression infrastructure and the addition of a second processing plant to handle natural gas from the Meji, South Delta, Okan, and Mefa fields.
The EGP 3B phase began operating in 2013, to eliminate routine natural gas flaring associated with crude oil production. The project includes the installation of a 120 million cubic feet per day natural gas gathering and compression platform near the existing Meren Complex 1, the installation of approximately 75 miles of subsea pipeline, and modifications to nine existing production platforms. The project was designed to receive natural gas from the Delta fields and transport it to the gas plant for processing and sale.
EGP3B collected the associated gas produced offshore, to compress the gas and deliver it to the EGP 3A tie-in point. The pipeline network consists of eight gas-gathering pipelines and one gas-export pipeline.
The platforms on the Escravos site are to be “connected” by a total of 130 km of the pipeline, 15 risers, and 3 tie-ins. All this involves 40 pipeline crossings.
In the future, a new platform (Meren GGCP) will be installed on the site.
CTS was involved in the study of different solutions for the installation of para petroleum equipment in the offshore environment between 5m and 22m depth for EGP3B

The engineering, procurement, and construction phases have gone well. The remaining studies by CTS (equipment and equipment installations) are ongoing and will be delivered on schedule.
